We’re not a travel agency. We aren’t going to sell you a package deal on a Route 66 tour. Frankly, we think that would ruin the whole trip. Route 66 isn’t about package deals. It’s about getting off the interstate — away from packaged, convenient, corporate-owned McCulture — and slowing down to discover a different America … the one you find in neon-festooned mom-and-pop motels, 24-hour diners with bouffant-haired waitresses named Vi, crazy old roadhouses, New Mexico sunrises, mountain roads, tourist traps, and full-service gas stations … the America you thought existed only on Nick at Nite.

So who are we? Just a bunch of crazy nostalgia buffs who think you deserve something better than the same old spring break on the same old crowded beach full of obnoxious drunks.

If you’re ready to slow down and spend a relaxing week or two enjoying the freedom of the open road and making new friends you’ll never forget, Route 66 just might be your speed.

See you down the road!

  1. Just found this website. What a fantastic idea!
I’ve enjoyed the mile by mile photos. Need to read the words of wisdom while I’m here too.
    Can’t wait for more.

  2. Thanks! Glad you’re enjoying it. I’m just getting back to the project after a bit of a hiatus … things have been nuts around here lately, but I’m hoping to get back on track with this soon. I posted another photo tonight. 🙂
