Route 66 in Oklahoma: Mile 10

The Rose Bowl — a 1960s bowling alley in a concrete dome — went out of business a couple of years ago. AMF, the company that ran it, stipulated that the buyer couldn’t use it to house another bowling alley, so the lanes were removed and hauled away to become bars, countertops, and dance floors. Plans were afoot to turn it into an event center, but that never materialized, and the building is once again up for sale.

I personally think it would make a killer neon museum, as its ceilings are high enough to accommodate large signs.
